We produce two main productions every other year (when there isn't an arts festival production), a spring production and an autumn production.
The spring production is performed at
Codsall Village Hall anywhere between early March and early May and is usually performed in-the-round, although we do use the stage from time to time when a small set or additional scenery is required.
Due to the nature of in-the-round performances, plays often take on a much more personal and intimate feel to which audiences respond well as it makes them feel a lot more involved. Also, some actors performing an in-the-round production find it a satisfying and an altogether more liberating experience, with the audience feedback being more tangible and accessible.
We have performed many major productions at the village hall, notably; 84 Charing Cross Road, Relatively Speaking and
Way Upstream.
The autumn production is performed in the main hall of
Codsall Community High School at the end of September or start of October. The stage is a decent size which allows us to create some wonderful and complex sets.
Obviously, with a sizeable stage we can create more of a spectacle which the audiences enjoy and appreciate very much. There are also members that enjoy working at the high school with the larger stage as it allows them to get in to building and creating sets and scenery we wouldn't normally be able to fit in a smaller venue like Codsall Village Hall.
We have performed many major productions at the high school over the years, notably; Les Liaisons Dangerous, Bare Foot In The Park and Blythe Spirit.
